In these miserable times of social distancing and self-isolation, one of the escapes for the reader is into a good book. I believe you need something cheerful and humorous with a happy ending. You need to remember the better days before the onset of Covid 19.

Michael Hillier´s latest novel satisfies those needs. It is called “The Discovery of Franco´s Bankroll” and it has what you need to cheer you up. It is written with a sense of humour so that the reader can enjoy joining in with the hero and his friends.

It is set in the Costa Blanca in sunny Spain. Sebastian Bishop is sought by the Spanish police (the dreaded Guardia Civil) for a murder he didn´t commit. The reader follows the sometimes dangerous and occasionally hilarious route he takes to clear his name. In the end he succeeds. He finds the treasure everybody thought had disappeared and captures the heart and the body of the woman he has lusted after.

I defy you to read this book and not end up feeling happier than you did when you started it.

At present it is only available as an ebook on Amazon, Apple, Kobo and Nook so you can read it on your computer, tablet or smart phone. However it will soon be released as a paperback. I will let you know when that occurs.
